PARTICIPLES : ACTIVE PARTICIPLE

Active Particple
Active Participle menggunakan akhiran -ing pada kata kerja, misalnya burning, working, loving, standing, sleeping. Active participle umumnya digunakan setelah be ( is, am, are , was, were, be, been,being ) sebagai penyusn kalimat continous tense, baik present countinous, past continous, future continous, maupun perfect continous.
Misalnya : 
- I am typing the proposal right now
- The coordinator will be presenting the report at 9 o'clock tomorrow  

Akan tetapi , Active Participle tersebut juga bisa di fungsikan sebagai berikut :
a) Sebagai adjective atau penjelasan kata benda.
    Contoh : The Crying baby is suffering from the heat ( crying menjelaskan kata baby).

b) Untuk menggabungkan 2 tindakan aktif yang terjadi berurutan.
    Contoh : The boy, shouting, woke his mother (gabungan dari the boy shouted and woke his  
                     mother)

c) Untuk menggabungkan dua kalimat aktif yang memiliki hubungan sebab akibat.
    Contoh : Falling, Andri tried calling for help (gabungan dari because he fell, Andri tried calling                     for help).
